Mike DeGeurin
Since joining Percy Foreman in 1977, Mike DeGeurin has earned international acclaim by proving Clarence Brandleys innocence, freeing him from 10 years on Texas Death Row; successfully defending Paul Fatta against murder charges arising from the government raid on Wacos Branch Davidians; and in a case featured on 60 Minutes, exonerating Kelly Koch from murder charges by proving her confession false and coerced. While Mikes sensational victories have earned the headlines, Mike has quietly and discreetly won similar victories in a broad array of white collar and corporate crimes including bank fraud, bribery, government contracting, wire/mail fraud, money laundering and conspiracy charges. Mike presently represents many local and international companies and their leaders and employees in a broad spectrum of criminal investigations. Mike graduated from the University of Texas in 1968 and the Texas Tech School of Law in 1972. He clerked for Judge Wendell Odom of the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals and Judge John Singleton, chief federal district judge for the Southern District of Texas. A leading national trial attorney, he has tried over 200 state and federal cases and been named Outstanding Criminal Defense Lawyer of Texas by the State Bar of Texas, Attorney of the Year by the Harris County Criminal Lawyers Association and one of the National Law Journal Top 50 Lawyers Under 50.
